Volunteer
Why Volunteer
A want versus a need. How to balance a checkbook. Don't you wish that someone had taught you those things as you were growing up? Now there is someone. YOU! Volunteers embody the heart of Junior Achievement. They bring a message of opportunity and economic understanding to classrooms. No matter what your profession, YOU can carry that message to children and change their lives forever. Junior Achievement provides the keys to your success: the training, the curriculum, and a classroom ready to meet you. All you need is your enthusiasm, your life experience, and a willingness to teach children about taking chances and shooting for the stars. The Commitment
Your commitment could vary from a single school day to one-hour visits each week for 5-10 weeks, depending on the grade level of the program you choose. You can choose your classroom based on a number of factors: the age level of children that you enjoy interacting with, the proximity of the school to your office or home, the curriculum theme that most closely resembles your work experiences, or other variables. We're flexible! Click here to see curriculum. How Do I Volunteer?
Junior Achievement makes it easy for you to volunteer, click here to sign up or email volunteer@jamidamerica.org. You will fill out the simple registrations form, contact JA about a training date and JA will connect you with a class that works for you. Welcome to Junior Achievement!Volunteer Training
Each new JA volunteer receives training to prepare for their classroom experience. Because we know our volunteers often have busy schedules, we offer several options of in-person group trainings or our online training tool. The Volunteers kit has a script for each activity and all materials needed for our students’ hands on activities. Dependent upon which training format you choose, these sessions will range from 1-1 ½ hours.Check out this video and see how JA volunteers really make a difference!
